|We understand that COVID-19 is providing many challenges and everyone is missing both the learning and social aspects of 4-H and other Youth programs. We will be posting virtual resources that can be used by individuals or for virtual group meetings and activities on a new page. As we find new resources, we will be updating this list. If you have any questions or suggestions for additions, please contact us.|
The Cornell University Department of Animal Science has active extension programs for young producers of dairy, beef, sheep, goats, swine, poultry and horses. In addition, the youth extension program provides for the interests of many of its clients in pet animals such as dogs, cats and rabbits. In addition, Science and Technology Programming includes both school and after school activities such as lessons found in the NYS 4-H Science Technology Engineering and Math Toolkit and national 4-H Veterinary Science curriculum.
The 4-H mission in NYS is to connect youth to hands-on learning opportunities that help them grow into competent, caring, contributing members of society. In the Animal Science program, rural, suburban and urban young people enjoy animal-related projects that enhance knowledge and skills in biology and production systems, as well as encourage personal development.
